Why did we discontinue Mostly Meishan sales?

We appreciate your interest in our Meishan herd, heritage breeds and our farm. One of Hogs & Horns Homesteads’ mandates is to focus on critically endangered breeds struggling to survive in Canada and worldwide. Though the Meishan meets these requirements, there are, unfortunately, no purebred, registered Meishan breeding herds available in Canada at this time. For this reason, we have decided to step away from them and focus on the breeds we can accurately bloodline-track.

As you continue your journey for Meishans, please remember that currently there are NO PUREBRED BREEDING HERDS in Canada—research, research, research. If anyone claims they have purebreds, they should be able to produce papers for the parents at a minimum.
