Terms and Conditions

Hogs and Horns Homestead Terms and Conditions for the sale of uninspected/ inspected and in-live-animal sales. Specific terms and conditions for applicable meat sales respectively apply – please see product terms and conditions for further explanation.
All animals sold for on-farm slaughter are sold “in-live animal” before harvest and will be raised, finished, slaughtered and processed at Hogs and Horns Homestead. 
For all animals slaughtered on-farm, the animal will be slaughtered and processed by seller and/or sellers authorized personnel. 
The animal and/or animal product will be free of hormones and steroids while being raised at Hogs and Horns Homestead. The animal may be treated with a parasite control product, if needed, in accordance with the recommendations of the parasite control manufacturer.
In the event that an animal requires non-natural treatment methods, the seller reserves the right to exchange the in live animal for an in-live animal that has not had non-natural treatment methods. ALL MEAT is antibiotic and medication-free at the time of butcher. No routine antibiotics are used. Only in life-saving events are antibiotics considered. 
All uninspected meat is slaughtered and processed on Hogs and Horns Homestead under the On-Farm Slaughter Operation License as per section 11(1)(d) of the Meat Inspection Regulation. All inspected meat is slaughtered at a provincially inspected abattoir. 
The total final balance owed of any whole animal product will be determined after the animal has been processed and will be based on the hanging weight of the animal. Price per lb. rail weight is set at the time of order. Pre-priced meat packages price is determined at the time of order. Hanging weight to be determined by seller/butcher at the time of slaughter/processing. 
The buyer is responsible to pay owed in full at the time of order pickup. Cash, Cheque, E-transfer, Credit Card, Debit, Paypal. 
All deposits are non-refundable and will be used as a credit towards the total cost of the animal product. Deposit owed is equal to 40% of Meat packages plus a flat rate per head on whole animals as per meat sale agreement. In the event the seller will not be able to provide the product contracted, the deposit will be returned to the buyer.
Orders are to be picked up at Hogs and Horns Homestead. Failure to pickup order within 21 days of Order Pickup Date will result in an additional 1%/day storage fee. 
All meat products once processed and sold from Hogs and Horns Homestead to buyer are not to be resold. The meat from the animal is uninspected, each package will be labelled “not for resale” and is not to be resold or for further distribution. 
All meat and live animal sales are final.
