We raise our pigs outdoors on the Alberta prairies. They eat a quality, corn-free, soy-free diet made with local grains. We use a  local, provincially inspected Alberta abattoir processes all our meats to bring you our world-class English Large Black bone-in, skin-on ham.

How do the animals live?

Hogs & Horns Homestead raises all of our animals’ hormone and steroid free. In doing so, we can raise them in an outdoor pasture setting, which allows them to live a stress-free life with plenty of exercise, fresh air, sunshine, pasture, and the ability to forage.

What’s The Major Difference In Taste & Quality Of Our Meat?

Our Swine’s Diet

Provided access to Alberta’s natural weeds, grasses, and foliage. We try to avoid any GMO, soy-based products for our swine. They receive high-quality supplements and home-mixed grains of oats, barley, wheat, peas, flax, beet pulp, sunflower seeds, and daily access to pasture.
