• The 40% Booking Deposit: To reserve an animal, a 40% deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit is strictly non-refundable as it secures the animal, removes it from the open market, and covers ongoing feed and care.
• The Injury/Illness Exception: We will refund your 40% deposit in full only if the reserved animal suffers an injury, becomes ill, or passes away while still in our sole care and custody prior to pickup/transport.
• 14-Day Pickup Timeline: Once you are notified that your animal is ready to go, you must book and complete your pickup appointment within two (2) weeks. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of your deposit and the cancellation of your reservation, or, at our sole discretion, an additional daily housing and feed fee applied to your final invoice.
• Transfer of Liability & Bio-security: For the safety of our homestead, buyers (or their designated transporters) must inspect animals in person prior to loading. If you deem the animal unfit during this inspection, the order may be cancelled before loading and resolved at our discretion via replacement, homestead credit, or refund. However, once the animal is loaded onto your transport vehicle, Hogs and Horns Homestead relinquishes all liability for the animal’s future health, performance, or soundness. Due to strict biosecurity protocols, livestock returns are absolutely not accepted under any circumstances.

• Food Safety Standards: In compliance with Alberta Health Services (AHS) regulations, we cannot accept physical returns on any perishable food or meat items once they leave our possession.
• Customer Storage Responsibility: Our meat products are highly perishable. Customers assume full responsibility for immediate, proper storage (refrigeration below 4°C or freezing below -18°C) upon pickup or delivery. We are not liable for spoilage due to delayed storage or improper handling.
• 24-Hour Problem Window: If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or spoiled due to a transit error on our part, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery or pickup with clear photographic proof of the product and packaging. Eligible claims will be resolved at our discretion with a product replacement or a refund.

• Natural Variations: Items such as European skull mounts, raw fibre, processed fleeces, and felted products are organic or hand-crafted. Natural variations in size, colour, texture, and markings are normal, expected characteristics of raw materials and are not considered product defects.
• Custom Commission Sales: All sales of custom artwork, custom felted pieces, or custom skull cleaning and mounting services are strictly final sale. Payments or upfront deposits for custom work cannot be refunded or cancelled once processing has commenced.
• In-Stock Returns: For pre-made, standard stock items, we offer a 14-day return window. Items must be returned in their original, unused condition (and raw fibre/fleeces must remain in unopened packaging free of smoke or debris). The buyer is responsible for trackable return shipping costs.

• Assumption of Risk: By booking a paid public workshop, educational tour, or entering our property for an order pickup, all visitors acknowledge that a working farm carries inherent risks. These include uneven terrain, changing weather, unpredictable animal behaviour, and active farm machinery. You explicitly agree that you enter the property at your own risk.
• Biosecurity Mandate: To protect the health of our herds and flocks, all visitors must strictly adhere to our on-farm biosecurity directives upon arrival (such as footwear sanitation and staying within designated public boundaries). Hogs and Horns Homestead reserves the right to immediately evict any individual who violates biosecurity rules, behaves unsafely, or mistreats our animals, without issuing a refund for their ticket or experience.

• Currency & Payments: All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes (such as GST). Payments must be completed via our approved methods (e-Transfer, cash or secure credit card processor) before goods or livestock leave the farm.
• Right to Cancel: We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel an order, or cancel a workshop registration at our sole discretion due to inventory limitations, animal health changes, pricing errors, or safety concerns. If we cancel an order or event, a full refund of any funds paid will be issued.
